Taking delivery is the right moment to assert your rights. Even a brand-new home can have deficiencies, and it is before you take possession that they are easiest to have the builder correct.
Why inspect a new home
New construction passes through dozens of trades. Details slip through, finishes are missed, installations are poorly adjusted. An independent inspection gives you an objective list, with no conflict of interest.
What we record
- Interior and exterior finishing defects
- Incomplete or non-functioning installations
- Caulking, sealing and drainage problems
- Poorly adjusted mechanical and electrical components
- Visible departures from good building practice
At the right time
Ideally, the inspection happens just before you sign the acceptance, so the corrections are recorded and required while the builder is still responsible for them.
